{"id":67438,"date":"2019-06-10T13:06:42","date_gmt":"2019-06-10T20:06:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.teachersoftomorrow.org\/florida\/?p=67438"},"modified":"2019-06-12T07:07:31","modified_gmt":"2019-06-12T14:07:31","slug":"amended-general-knowledge-test-gkt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.teachersoftomorrow.org\/florida\/teacher-resources\/teaching-in-florida-blog\/amended-general-knowledge-test-gkt\/","title":{"rendered":"Amended General Knowledge Test &#8211; GKT"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><u>Amended General Knowledge Test Requirements GKT<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As a Result of Senate Bill 7070, there have been amendments to the General Knowledge Test (GKT) Requirements effective May 9, 2019. This bill has removed the 1 year requirement for the GKT, which required teachers to pass all four parts during the first year of teaching on their Temporary Certificate or they would lose their job.<\/p>\n<p>So what does this mean for you?<\/p>\n<p>This means the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You now have the full <strong><u>3 years<\/u><\/strong> on your Temporary Certificate to pass the General Knowledge Test.<\/li>\n<li>This new rule applies to those who currently have a valid Temporary Certificate.
