Indiana Teachers wants you to succeed throughout all steps of your journey, which is why we\u2019re keeping you updated with changes to the licensure process. The Indiana Department of Education (IDOE)<\/a> is officially moving from the Pearson CORE<\/a> exams to the ETS Praxis<\/a> exams. Starting September 1, 2021, the IDOE and Indiana Teachers will not accept Pearson CORE exams<\/strong>. In this blog, we\u2019re going to break down each step so you can get licensed!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The IDOE is officially transitioning to the ETS Praxis exam. What does this mean for you? Starting July 1st<\/sup>, the IDOE and Indiana Teachers will start accepting Praxis exams for some subject areas, along with certain test combinations listed here<\/a>. The IDOE and Indiana Teachers will accept both the Praxis and CORE exams taken between July 1st<\/sup> and August 31st<\/sup>. This means if you\u2019ve registered to take your CORE exam between July 1st<\/sup> and August 31st<\/sup>, your scores will still be accepted, even if you send your scores in after the September 1st<\/sup> deadline has passed. If you take a Pearson CORE exam after September 1st<\/sup>, your score will not be accepted<\/strong>. On the ETS Praxis page<\/a>, you can find how to create your account, available testing dates, and a registration link for the Praxis exam you\u2019d like to take. The exam content, format and on-screen experience are identical to those taken in a testing center. You\u2019ll take the exam on your computer in your home and be monitored by a human proctor online. Be sure to select ‘IN Teachers of Tomorrow’ when registering for your exam, so your scores are automatically sent to us. <\/em><\/strong>These tests are available seven days a week, so you\u2019ll be able to take them on your own time! This will ensure your scores are automatically sent to us once your exam has been graded. If you forget to complete this step prior to registering, no worries!\u00a0 You will receive your scores in PDF format and can simply forward that email on to us at Teach@INTeachers.org. Once we\u2019ve received and processed your report, your intern portal will be updated, usually within one week of the scores being reported.<\/p>\n To confirm we have received your scores, look at the \u2018Pass Exam\u2019 section on the \u2018What\u2019s Next Checklist\u2019 in your Intern Portal. There will be a checkmark by \u2018Pass Exam\u2019 if we have received your scores.
