{"id":65653,"date":"2018-11-01T10:38:26","date_gmt":"2018-11-01T17:38:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nevada.teachersoftomorrow.org\/?p=65653"},"modified":"2019-06-21T07:41:57","modified_gmt":"2019-06-21T14:41:57","slug":"nevada-teacher-of-the-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.teachersoftomorrow.org\/nevada\/teacher-resources\/teaching-in-nevada-blog\/nevada-teacher-of-the-year\/","title":{"rendered":"Should I teach in Nevada"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Having worked in helping states solve the teacher shortage since 2005, we hear a lot of people ask if they should be come a teacher in Nevada.\u00a0 We have an extensive list of reasons to become a teacher from experts around the country at our\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.teachersoftomorrow.org\/blog\/insights\/should-i-be-a-teacher\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Teachers of Tomorrow<\/a>\u00a0blog.<\/p>\n<p>But we love what the <a href=\"http:\/\/newsroom.ccsd.net\/richard-knoeppel-of-a-tech-named-nevadas-teacher-of-the-year\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Nevada Teacher of the Year<\/a> Richard Knoeppel, a Clark County School district teacher since 1995, has to say about his teaching practice.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHis belief that every child can succeed has helped to build a nationally recognized program of study in Architectural Design,\u201d Superintendent Jesus Jara said in a statement. \u201cHis students consistently earn awards in local, regional and national architecture competitions for their design work.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Former student Jamie Centeno said he\u2019s also the guy who helps his students with their scholarship applications and listens whenever they need life advice. Now a freshman studying architecture at UNLV, Centeno still keeps in touch with Knoeppel and attended his surprise event Monday.<\/p>\n<p>From students &#8211;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Mr. Knoeppel understands his students, and keeps the atmosphere very relaxed, ultimately making his students more proficient. It&#8217;s always refreshing to meet people that are naturally chilled out. He is the best teacher that I&#8217;ve had in my entire school career!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Mr. Knoeppel is a great teacher who helps not only with CADD, but also with any other student needs such as recommendations if the student works hard there is no limit to his kindness.
