{"id":6221,"date":"2017-10-20T14:31:37","date_gmt":"2017-10-20T19:31:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/texas.teachersoftomorrow.net\/?p=6221"},"modified":"2019-09-27T10:08:16","modified_gmt":"2019-09-27T15:08:16","slug":"12-years-teaching-jobs-amazing-milestone","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.teachersoftomorrow.org\/texas\/teacher-resources\/teaching-in-texas-blog\/12-years-teaching-jobs-amazing-milestone\/","title":{"rendered":"12 Years of Teaching Jobs: An Amazing Milestone"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>12 years ago today<\/strong>, we started working diligently to help solve the teacher shortage in Texas by filling teaching jobs with highly qualified teachers.\u00a0 We worked with school districts across the state to ensure they had the talent they needed so that every student could have a great teacher.\u00a0 And the numbers are staggering\u2026<span id=\"more-2276\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Over 42,000\u00a0Texas Teachers\u00a0have been hired by school districts \u2013 in that number are:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>6,887\u00a0special education teaching jobs<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>2,508\u00a0bilingual\u00a0teaching jobs<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>2,201\u00a0science\u00a0teaching jobs<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>3,691\u00a0math\u00a0teaching jobs<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We have helped both urban and rural districts and we are second in the nation at hiring teachers of color \u2013 46% of our teachers are non-white.<\/p>\n<p>It has been an amazing 12 years!<\/p>\n<p><strong>In 2016 we increased our impact through:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Launching highly interactive training content that will dramatically improve teacher quality<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Gained acceptance in\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.florida.teachersoftomorrow.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Florida<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nevada.teachersoftomorrow.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Nevada<\/a>\u00a0to expand nationally through our parent company,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.teachersoftomorrow.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Teachers of Tomorrow<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Demonstrated a 68% retention rate over 5 years \u2013 well ahead of the national average<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Completed Phase II of our CAEP accreditation \u2013 we would be the first alternative certification program approved by CAEP<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We are particularly proud of the new teacher training curriculum, which propels our teacher preparation to \u2018next level\u2019 status. Offering in-depth test preparation modules, elective coursework, and many hours of video content from inside the classrooms of experienced educators, the new training has enriched the candidate\u2019s learning experience like never before.<\/p>\n<p>The next few years will be incredible and we look forward to continuing to make our mark by training amazing teachers who truly make a difference in the lives of students across the\u00a0nation.
