{"id":1202,"date":"2016-10-05T15:10:19","date_gmt":"2016-10-05T15:10:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.teachersoftomorrow.org\/?p=1202"},"modified":"2017-01-05T10:34:23","modified_gmt":"2017-01-05T16:34:23","slug":"advisory-board","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.teachersoftomorrow.org\/blog\/press-releases\/advisory-board\/","title":{"rendered":"Teachers of Tomorrow Announces the Formation of Its Inaugural Advisory Board"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Teachers of Tomorrow announced it has formed an Advisory Board to further the Company&#8217;s mission of providing school districts and principals the most qualified teacher candidates to fill specific areas of need in an efficient and consistent basis.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the Advisory Board is to provide counsel to the Board of Directors and Founder \/ CEO of Teachers of Tomorrow on strategy with particular emphasis on providing perspective and relationships with respect to improving teacher quality and effectiveness as well as new state expansion, and regulatory and industry trends.<\/p>\n<p>The Advisory Board will be composed of a diverse group of individuals from the academic, business leadership, education policy, and political arenas. In conjunction with the formation of the Advisory Board the following individuals have been selected as inaugural members.<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li><span class=\"xn-person\">David Driscoll<\/span> \u2013 22<sup>nd<\/sup> Commissioner of Education for the Commonwealth of <span class=\"xn-location\">Massachusetts<\/span>; Former Chair of National Assessment Governing Board<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"xn-person\">Jim Konantz<\/span> \u2013 Former Assistant Superintendent, Los Angeles Unified School District; Senior Vice President of Education Initiatives, K12 Inc.<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"xn-person\">Tom Luna<\/span> \u2013 Senior Vice President and Chief Policy Officer of &#8220;Project Lead the Way&#8221;; Former Superintendent of Public Instruction in <span class=\"xn-location\">Idaho<\/span>; Former Advisor to U.S. Secretary of Education <span class=\"xn-person\">Rod Paige<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"xn-person\">Robert Scott<\/span> \u2013 Former Texas Commissioner of Education and Head of the Texas Education Agency (&#8220;TEA&#8221;)<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"xn-person\">Florence Shapiro<\/span> \u2013 Former Member of <span class=\"xn-location\">Texas<\/span> Senate representing <span class=\"xn-location\">North Dallas<\/span>; Chaired the <span class=\"xn-location\">Texas<\/span> Senate Education Committee for 10 years<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"xn-person\">Jane Swift<\/span> \u2013 CEO of Middlebury Interactive Languages; Former Governor for the Commonwealth of <span class=\"xn-location\">Massachusetts<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"xn-person\">Paul Vallas<\/span> \u2013 Former Superintendent of the <span class=\"xn-location\">Bridgeport<\/span> Public Schools; Former Superintendent of the Recovery School District of <span class=\"xn-location\">Louisiana<\/span>; and Former CEO of the School District of <span class=\"xn-location\">Philadelphia<\/span> and <span class=\"xn-location\">Chicago<\/span> Public Schools<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8220;The Teachers of Tomorrow Advisory Board will help us strengthen our operations and better serve both our customers and school districts who seek talented and diverse teachers to lead their classrooms and drive student achievement,&#8221; said <span class=\"xn-person\">William Hansen<\/span>, President and CEO of <span class=\"xn-location\">USA<\/span> Funds, Former Deputy U.S. Secretary of Education, and Current Board Member of Teachers of Tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p><i>About Teachers of Tomorrow <\/i>(<u><a class=\"linkOnClick\" href=\"http:\/\/localhost\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">www.teachersoftomorrow.org<\/a><\/u>)<\/p>\n<p>Teachers of Tomorrow is the largest, fastest growing Teacher Certification Program in the country, delivering online and in-person training to individuals pursuing a career in teaching.
