An article today points out that Guilford County is still has <a href=\"https:\/\/myfox8.com\/2019\/07\/29\/teacher-shortage-has-nc-looking-elsewhere-to-recruit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">117 open teaching positions<\/a> in the school district and we have seen this across the state.<\/p>\n<p>Since the state eliminated the lateral entry program for teachers, we have been busy filling the void for teachers.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.teachersoftomorrow.org\/northcarolina\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">North Carolina<\/a> is turning out to be one of our best states.\u00a0 We have had over 1,500 potential teachers apply to the NC Teachers of Tomorrow program, we have had over 300 start the program and we know that over 40 have already been hired.\u00a0 Since we just started last fall, this is a phenomenal beginning.<\/p>\n<p>We see articles on the teacher shortage all the time (right now Kentucky has a ton).
