Admission Eligibility Options                  

Indiana Teachers of Tomorrow is a state-approved educator preparation program (EPP). We are proud to offer candidates a Transition to Teaching (T2T) Permit to begin teaching in the classroom. We are the only program in the state to transition you directly from a T2T Permit directly to a Practitioner License. All teaching permits and licenses are issued directly through the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE). As per state regulations, to be admitted to an EPP, you must meet one of the following IDOE-approved options.

For candidates pursuing ELEMENTARY EDUCATION (K-6), Exceptional Needs – Mild Intervention SPED (P – 12), and/or English as a Second Language (P – 12) you must meet one of the following: 

  • OPTION 1: You must possess a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university with a minimum GPA of 3.0+;
  • OPTION 2: You must possess a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university with a minimum GPA of 2.5-2.99 AND five (5) years of relevant professional experience; or
  • OPTION 3: Possess a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university AND and proof of passing state-approved content area examination(s) in the subject area.

 

For candidates pursuing SECONDARY EDUCATION (5-12), you must meet one of the following: 

  • OPTION 1: You must possess a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university with a GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 point scale. The degree must correspond to the subject content area in which the applicant seeks to be licensed.
  • OPTION 2: You must possess a Master’s degree from a regionally accredited university in the subject area or related field in which the person wants to teach.
  • OPTION 3: Possess a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university with a grade point average of at least 2.50 on a 4.0 point scale. The degree must correspond to the subject content area in which the applicant seeks to be licensed, and the applicant have five (5) years of relevant professional experience.
  • OPTION 4: You must possess a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university, and proof of passing state-approved content area examination(s) in the subject area.

 

For candidates pursuing ALL-GRADE EDUCATION (P-12), you must meet one of the following:

  • OPTION 1: You must possess a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university with a GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 point scale. The degree must correspond to the subject content area in which the applicant seeks to be licensed.
  • OPTION 2: You must possess a Master’s degree from a regionally accredited university in the subject area or related field in which the person wants to teach.
  • OPTION 3: Possess a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university with a grade point average of at least 2.50 on a 4.0 point scale. The degree must correspond to the subject content area in which the applicant seeks to be licensed, and the applicant have five (5) years of relevant professional experience.
  • OPTION 4: You must possess a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university, and proof of passing state-approved content area examination(s) in the subject area.

Program Admission Requirements                   

In addition to meeting one of the above Admission Eligibility Options, the following criteria are required to be admitted into Indiana Teachers of Tomorrow:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university
  • Submitted Indiana Teachers application
  • Completed online questionnaire
  • Signed Offer of Admission letter
