Classroom Readiness Training

To become eligible for hire, you must first complete your online teacher training coursework, known as your Classroom Readiness Training.

Field-Based Experience

Along with your Classroom Readiness Training, you must complete your Field-Based Experience hours, also known as classroom observation hours.

Praxis Core Exam 5752*

The Nevada Department of Education requires each teacher candidate to pass the Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators (Praxis Core) exam.

Praxis Subject Assessment*

*Only Secondary Teachers are also required to take the Nevada Praxis Subject Assessment prior to earning their initial licensure for their content-specific area.

Background Check

The Nevada Department of Education requires that all prospective educators submit fingerprints to undergo a state and federal background check in order to obtain their license.

 

SUBMIT FINGERPRINTS

Conditional License

Once you finish your Classroom Readiness Training and Project 2, you will receive your Letter of Eligibility (LOE). With your LOE, you may apply for your Conditional License through the Nevada DOE.
