We’re so proud of how far you’ve already made it. Boost your employability by completing these required tasks. Securing these obligatory documents will demonstrate to hiring managers that you’re prepared and ready to teach. To help, we’ve outlined everything you need to land the job!

Pre-Service Training

To become eligible to teach, you must first complete your Classroom Readiness Training, consisting of both teacher training coursework and Field-Based Experiences, which are reflective classroom observations of an EC-12 setting.

Statement of Eligibility

Before accepting employment, you must provide your district with a Statement of Eligibility (SOE), marked ‘Eligible’ from the Florida Department of Education. This confirms you are enrolled with Florida Teachers and are eligible for employment.

Temporary Certificate

With your Statement of Eligibility (SOE), you may become hired in the subject area you are pursuing. Once you have been hired with an ‘Eligible’ Statement of Eligibility, you must apply for your Temporary Certificate Florida Department of Education.
