Enroll for as low as $115* to get started! The enrollment fee gives you immediate access to your online training and all the resources you need to become a teacher. The remaining balance of $4,100 is not due until you are hired as a full-time teacher and may be divided into multiple payments.

What is the pay no program fee until hired guarantee?

Pay no program fee until hired is our way of saying that you will not have to pay your $4,100 program fee if you never teach in a classroom/hired because our success is your success!

*3 monthly installments of $115 per month

You can get started now! We have rolling admissions throughout the year, all you need is your official transcript with a major in the certification area you’re interested in pursuing.

If you complete your training, or get to any point in the process before you are hired and decide teaching is not for you, the remaining balance of the program fee is not due. It is completely contingent upon getting hired.

There are limited options for admission into the program if your GPA is below a 2.5. Please apply to the program to learn more about these options.

You are eligible to begin looking for a teaching position as soon as you have passed your Praxis II Subject Assessment and completed your Classroom Readiness training. Once completed, apply through the South Carolina Department of Education for a Statement of Eligibility.

Once you have been hired, you will submit I Got a Job form to South Carolina Teachers to verify your employment. Once verified, you will receive your Alternative Route Certificate through the South Carolina Department of Education.

You can send your official transcripts in multiple ways. The quickest method to get started is for your university to send electronic officials to transcripts@southcarolinateachers.org. If your university does not have this as an option, you can mail them to our national headquarters at 2401 Fountain View Dr., Suite 700 Houston, TX 77057.

The length of the program is up to you! Our online training is flexible and made for you to do on your own time, so if you are currently working it’s not a problem at all! You do have to teach 3 full years, so once you have completed your online training and passed your subject assessment you can then start looking for your new career.

Certification varies state to state, so it would be necessary to contact the department of education of the state that you are looking to move to, to verify their reciprocation process.

An Alternative Route Certificate is valid for 1 year and can be renewed 3 times with verification of employment. A Professional Teaching License is valid for 5 years and is renewable.
