Before you can enroll and officially get started, the Alabama Department of Education requires all candidates to take and pass a Praxis Subject Area test. Once you’re officially enrolled with Alabama Teachers, your teacher training is underway. As soon as you’re admitted, you will gain access to online training module 1: The Foundations of Learning.

This is the substance of your teacher preparation. Our flexible training modules are delivered 100% online and available to you 24/7. You have complete freedom to set your own schedule and learn on your own time. Developed by leading educators, we aim to provide you with nothing short of the best. As you dive into 180 of online training, you’ll lay the groundwork needed to become a successful teacher. From teaching strategies to integrating technology and everything in between, you’ll soon be ready to step foot inside the classroom.

Unlocking access to module 1 is the key to making your way into the classroom! Shake off those nerves and prepare to teach – this is the moment you’ve been waiting for! As you work your way through the first module, you are now eligible to apply for your Conditional Certificate in a Teaching Field (CCTF) and seek employment, upon receiving your Letter of Eligibility.

You’ve invested a lot to get to this point and you’re ready. During your first year on your CCTF, you’ll work as a full-time teacher, earning full pay and benefits. Our extremely flexible approach truly lets you call the shots. While you continue to teach and work toward earning your full Class B Professional Certification, you have up to three years to complete your remaining training modules.

Complete module 1 before the end of your first year, and begin working on the subsequent three modules, when you’re ready. You may gain immediate access to the first three modules. Once you complete these three, you may unlock the fourth and final required training module. You are required to teach for one academic year while working on module 4.
