If you have questions about becoming a certified teacher in Alabama,

All you pay to get started is $245! This grants you access to your first required training module. You may purchase additional modules when you are ready. Please review our Pricing page for a breakdown of individual module prices.

You can get started now! We have rolling admissions throughout the year. Here’s what we need: your official transcripts, FBI and SBI background clearance and passing Praxis exam scores!

Once you have been hired, please verify your employment with us by submitting your “I Got a Job” form and copy of your offer of employment. Once verified, we will approve you to apply for your CCTF with theAlabama State Department of Education.

There are various routes to send your transcripts. The fastest and most efficient method is to request your university to send electronic official transcripts to transcripts@alabamateachers.org. If your university does not have this as an option, you can mail official transcripts to our physical address.

The length of your certification journey is up to you! Our online training is on-demand and made to fit your schedule, so you can keep your current job while preparing to become a teacher. You must teach at least one academic year on your CCTF, but may teach up to three!

The certificate you receive through us comes directly from the Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) and is the same you would receive via any other route to initial certification in the state. Certification and licensure requirements vary from state to state, so contact each state’s department of education that you are looking to move to verify the reciprocation process.

Applicants to Alabama Teachers do not need classroom experience. Our training is designed for all types of candidates, including those who have never stepped foot inside a classroom. The online teacher training modules provide a comprehensive base of teaching knowledge to prepare you for your first teaching job.

Yes, you will need to pass a background clearance by both Alabama State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) through the Educator Certification Section.

You will need to pass the Praxis Subject Area Test prior to enrollment. Please view certification areas and tests on our here.

Yes, having a completed bachelor’s degree with an overall GPA of 2.50 is a requirement for standard admission into Alabama Teachers. Alternatively, if your GPA is 2.00 – 2.49, we can accept a Praxis Score for admittance into the program. The first item you will send to us to gain admission is your official transcript with date conferred.
