Time Is on Your Side

If you are offered admission to the Texas Teachers program on or after June 15 as a Quick Hire Candidate, you are immediately eligible for hire.

Take advantage of this opportunity and jump right in!

We want you to be successful in the classroom! From the first day you start teaching, the TEA will give you 90 school days to complete the following:

  • Required Pre-Service Training Modules
  • 30 hours of Field-Based Experiences


By the end of the year, before your Intern Certificate expires, you must complete the following, in order:

  1. Pass your TExES Content Exam
  2. Complete Internship Projects & Elective Coursework
  3. Complete the Test Preparation for the Pedagogy and Professional Responsibilities (PPR) Exam
  4. Pass the PPR Exam

Steps to #GetHired

as a Quick Hire Candidate

Receive Admission Offer

To be considered a Quick Hire Candidate, you must receive and accept your Texas Teachers program admission offer on or after June 15. To accept your admission offer and enroll, please visit your Intern Portal.

Request Your SOE

After enrolled with Texas Teachers, you may request your Statement of Eligibility (SOE). Your SOE informs schools that you are eligible for hire. To request your SOE, please send us an email at


Once you have obtained your SOE, you are eligible to #GetHired by school districts immediately! The requirement to first pass your content exam is currently waived! Review our #GetHired Resources to help you find your first teaching job.
