Study Strategy

I often get test anxiety so I made steps to ensure that I would be calm and do well on the exam. I first studied using Texas Teachers resources but I couldn't grab the concepts sufficiently. Paid the $55 for CertifyTeacher.com and Quizlet. Those were excellent resources for me. I took the practice exam from CF probably 8 times, which helped me to get over the test "setting". Once I scored an 80 on the practice exam, I scheduled the state test for a week later. The practice exam had 60 questions versus the 80 that's on the state exam (10 aren't graded). Which helped me be more confident and successful.

The questions aren't tricky and are very straight forward. The best answer will most likely be something related to cognitive thinking, higher-order thinking, or something that may be considered more difficult for the teacher but highly beneficial for the student. Best of luck!

Testing Strategy

Since I took so many practice exams, I feel I was more than ready for the real thing. I passed with a score of 262. CertifyTeacher did an excellent job preparing me. As other T.T. students mentioned, you will need to learn the legal terms and there's several Quizlet cards for those. Overall, it really isn't very hard. I imagine if you take the practice exams from either Certify Teacher or Texas Teacher and you pass, that you will do well on the state exam. Breath. Relax. Go with your gut.

Study Strategy

I used CertifyTeacher.com and 240tutoring.com. I would recommend CertifyTeacher, the questions are very much similar and I felt some questions were even pulled from that study site.

Testing Strategy

The test is not as easy if you are not familiar with the ELA and grammar structure. I really had to brush up. Don't focus on the laws; focus on grammar and assessment in the classroom. The exam is all situational and application. I did not pass the first time and waiting for my score now, but with CertifyTeacher I feel more confident that I passed.

Study Strategy

I started studying for this exam about 2 1/2 weeks before my exam date. I used certifyteacher.com everyday for about an hour. I also used flash cards I created on Quizlet, which contained concepts/words that I was unfamiliar with.

Testing Strategy

The exam seemed a little easier than what I expected. Remember to rule out obvious incorrect answers. If you have to pick between two answers, pick the one which offers multiple chances for the student to grasp the information.

Study Strategy

I recommend using multiple resources to study. I used certifyteacher.com and 240tutoring.com. They both have a guarantee to help you pass. I studied for two weeks every night leading up to the exam.

Testing Strategy

I did not think the test was time pressured at all. They give you five hours to take it but two hours was enough for me to finish. All questions are situational. My advice is to take tons of practice tests and don't dwell on laws but on the different types of bilingual programs out there. I ended up getting a 258 on the first try.

I used CertifyTeacher.com. It is amazing, and I highly recommend it! Study the differences between the dual language program, bilingual classes, and English Language Learners. Also study how a student is evaluated, and the different stages of language proficiency.

Testing Strategy

I recommend going through every question carefully and using the process of elimination. Always think what will be beneficial to the students.

Study Strategy

To study for the Bilingual Supplemental I used the Certify Teacher program. It is worth every penny. I've used the programs to study for the Generalist EC-6 and PPR. I have passed all my exams due to this amazing program. You cant go wrong buying it. I studied for about a week before the exam. Learn all the court cases, process of second language acquisition, know about the LPAC committee and parents rights.

Testing Strategy

The exam was actually pretty easy. Just stay focused if provided use the ear muffs to avoid noise distractions. There are only 70 questions which 60 of them are scored. Dont stumble on one you dont understand, mark it for review, and keep going. I passed with a 261. Good luck!
