We know how amazing teachers are, and we want to help celebrate their victories. Thus, we’re picking one grand prize winner to celebrate as the Texas Teachers: Teacher of the Year!

Nominee

In order for a teacher to be qualified for the Texas Teachers: Teacher of the Year award, they must be nominated by their Field Supervisor or their school’s principal by Tuesday, April 16.

Finalist

Public voting for the Texas Teachers: Teacher of the Year finalists will be open April 22- May 6. The finalist will be announced here, so come back and check to see who’s made the cut!

Winner

The Texas Teachers: Teacher of the Year will then be announced during Teacher Appreciation Week (May 6-10) and be awarded the grand prize of $5,000. There will also be prizes for the second and third place winners.

How to Nominate for Teacher of Year 2019

Every day our first-year teachers are out there dedicating themselves to providing the best education to their students. To nominate a Teacher of Year, please see the guidelines and submission requirements below:

  • ONE nomination per Principal
  • Your nominee should be a first-year teacher in the Texas Teachers program
  • Ideally, your nominee started teaching at the beginning of the school year

Include the following information with your nomination:

  • Intern name
  • District and Campus name
  • Subject and Grade level
  • An explanation as to why this intern has been nominated
