Quick Hire: Get in the Classroom This Fall!
You’ve started your journey in following your dreams by deciding to become a teacher. Congratulations! At Texas Teachers, we want to get you in the classroom as soon as possible so you can achieve your goals faster. To get you teaching by the Fall semester, we’re kicking off Quick Hire season on July 1st! Quick Hire season is the time where districts and schools are hiring the most teachers to fill up their vacant classrooms. This means you can #GetHired in just a few weeks! Everything You Need to Know to Become a Quick Hire Candidate!
Step One: Get Qualified
To be considered a Quick Hire candidate, you must apply on or after July 1st. After you’ve applied and accepted your admission offer, you’re halfway there! The next step is to take and pass your Content Exam. Texas Teachers wants to make sure you’re 100% ready to ace your exams, so we’ve partnered with the best test prep companies in Texas to offer you some amazing discounts! To learn more about these discounts, you can learn more on our Test Prep page. After you’ve passed your Content Exam, you’re officially eligible for hire!
Step Two: Get Hired
After you’ve become qualified, the next step is to #GetHired. Hiring districts and schools spend this time looking for qualified candidates to get in their classrooms. Texas Teachers provides all enrolled candidates with the tools they need to get teaching as soon as possible. We regularly post upcoming job fairs throughout the state of Texas, as well as host our own job fairs! We have three upcoming job fairs in Houston, Dallas & Fort Worth area, and Austin & San Antonio area that are open for registration. And remember, schools are hiring year-round so you can #GetHired and start teaching at any time. Step Three: Start Teaching
The final step is to start teaching! Once you’ve been hired, school districts will give you 90 days to complete your required pre-service training modules and your 30 hours of Field-Based Experience hours. By the end of the year, before your Intern Certificate expires, you’ll need to complete your Internship Year Requirements, which you can learn more about here.
If you are employed as a Quick Hire Candidate, school districts will grant you 90 school days to finish your Texas Teachers of Tomorrow Pre-Service Training while teaching in their school. This required training includes:
- 30 hours of Field-Based Experiences (Classroom Observations)
- All required Pre-Service Training Modules
