Celebrating 20 Years of Educator Impact
As we continue our journey through the “20 Years, 20 Stories” campaign, we’re excited to introduce Dale Keat, a 4th grade general education teacher and a 2025 graduate of Teachers of Tomorrow. Dale entered the classroom with a clear mission: to be a positive role model and address the chronic shortage of quality teachers in his state.

A Call to Lead
For Dale, becoming a teacher wasn’t just a career move—it was an act of service.
“There was a chronic shortage of good quality teachers in my state, and I saw an opportunity to be a role model to my students.”
He wanted to step in and make a difference, and Teachers of Tomorrow gave him the tools to begin that journey.
“The program taught me how to teach—how to build quality, in-depth lessons that really connect with students.”
A Moment of Pride
One of Dale’s favorite moments as a new teacher came during an observation for his mentor.
“I was being recorded, and it was such a proud moment to see myself leading the class confidently.”
Since then, he’s embraced the fast-paced nature of teaching and all the challenges it brings.
“Keeping up with requirements is a full-time job, but the connection with students makes it all worthwhile.”
Why He Stays
Dale is energized by seeing his students grow.
“Seeing the kids succeed and having a great rapport with them—those are the moments that matter.”
His advice to future teachers?
“Have a positive outlook and lots of empathy. It’s a demanding career, but the day-to-day work with kids is deeply rewarding.”
