Indiana is switching vendors for teacher licensing tests – dropping Pearson and picking up ETS.  I will freely admit that during the legislation to make this change we got involved. The main reason is that ETS is a national test and the current Indiana teacher test is not.

Why is this an issue? Because it was difficult to find teacher testing preparation materials for a custom test but much easier for a national test where there are plenty of Praxis test prep materials.

The change will happen in September 2021 – so we still have a while on the old tests.  The other thing that would be nice is if the cut scores on the teaching exams were set at a more reasonable level – currently they are way to high.

So congrats to ETS! We look forward to making sure that Indiana has all the teachers they need. It sure will be easier since our career changers can access Praxis test prep materials.
