Program Mentorship

Support & Coaching FAQs

What kind of support do alt cert programs provide (mentors, supervisors, job help)?

Support is a key part of the process. Most programs offer:

  • Advisors to guide you step by step through requirements
  • Field supervisors who observe and coach you in the classroom
  • Mentorship from experienced teachers at your school
  • Job support like interview tips, resume reviews, and district connections

You’re not on your own, you have a network of people dedicated to helping you succeed.

How do Teachers of Tomorrow’s field supervisors support new teachers?

Our field supervisors bring years of real-world experience—many are former principals, administrators, or veteran educators. Depending on your state requirements, they will support you through classroom visits or virtual observations, where they observe your teaching, review your lesson plans, and provide constructive, practical feedback. Think of them as your personal coach during your first year: they ensure you feel confident, supported, and on track to meet state requirements while growing into an effective classroom teacher.

What support do I get from Teachers of Tomorrow once I start teaching?

You’ll be paired with a dedicated field supervisor who observes your teaching, offers personalized coaching, and shares practical strategies to help you succeed. Alongside that, you’ll have ongoing access to expert advisors, online resources, and a mentor teacher at your school. With this support system, you’re never alone—we provide consistent feedback and guidance every step of your first year.

Does Teachers of Tomorrow help me get a teaching job?
