HOUSTON, Nov. 28, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — Teachers of Tomorrow announced the launch of its innovative teacher training and certification program in Nevada. The Nevada teacher certification program has been approved by the Nevada Department of Education as an alternative route to teaching licensure and received an initial license from the Nevada Department of Postsecondary Education to begin operations in the state.

“Nevada has seen crippling teacher shortages for many years and recently created a method for teacher programs like ours to help school districts quickly address those shortages,” said Vernon Reaser, CEO of Teachers of Tomorrow. “We are honored to be one of the initial programs to achieve approval and licensure to help Nevada schools find the teaching talent they need.”

Teachers of Tomorrow provided the state of Nevada with an exhaustive look at the operations and curriculum of the organization to demonstrate that it meets the standards for postsecondary schools as well as the high standards for teacher training.  The program’s thorough and detailed application was unanimously approved on the first review by the Nevada Commission on Professional Standards at their October meeting.

Teachers of Tomorrow customized additional training content to enhance the relevancy and rigor of the teacher preparation coursework and will operate as Nevada Teachers of Tomorrow in the state.  The new website, NevadaTeachers.com, launched today to serve career changers and recent college graduates who want to teach in Nevada, and their team of advisors have been trained to guide teacher candidates through the process of becoming a teacher.
