MI Library Media

What is happening?

At Michigan Teachers of Tomorrow, we continually seek ways to offer you more opportunities on your journey to becoming an educator, which is why we are delighted to share that Michigan Teachers of Tomorrow has been approved to offer a Library Media endorsement! This is BIG NEWS because 92% of schools in Michigan don’t have full-time librarians. Until now, to get a Library Media endorsement, teachers were required to obtain a master’s degree in library science or library and information science. Our Program now allows any future school librarian with a bachelor’s degree in Library Science, or related subject area approved by the state, to gain a Library Media endorsement through the Teachers of Tomorrow program in a fraction of the time and cost – without sacrificing curriculum quality!

When is it happening?

Now! Teachers of Tomorrow applied for approval to add Library Media as an endorsement area when the opportunity became available earlier in 2021. After a lengthy process, we are proud to say Library Media has now been added to the list of endorsements we offer.

Who qualifies?

Those with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in library science, or related subject area approved by the state, are eligible to obtain an endorsement in Library Media.
