Join us in Welcoming New Director, Melanie Ferlito
It has been an exciting first month for North Carolina Teachers of Tomorrow! Most exciting this week because our new state director, Melanie Ferlito, is here training to take over the new position.
Melanie will work with our North Carolina School Districts to help understand their current teacher shortages and make sure we are recruiting the right teachers for those districts. She will work closely with our Advisor, Amanda Pattison, who helps our teacher candidates work towards their certification and North Carolina Teaching license!
It’s a system that gets results – over 70% of our teachers are still teaching after 5 years!
The final North Carolina Teachers of Tomorrow staff are our field supervisors. We have supervisors ready to support our teachers before they get in the classroom and actually coach them on their teaching practice while they are in the classroom!
In just one month we have 7 people in the program and over 167 have applied to become North Carolina teachers!
A great start to helping solve the teacher shortage!!
